We are Leanna and Jordan - owners, designers and makers behind Lucky Tree Studio. We are passionate about creating quality, eco friendly bamboo jewelry & decor that looks good, feels good and does good for the environment.
What started as a need for versatile, lightweight statement earrings, quickly turned into a business that allows us to express our love for design, fashion and nature and follow our dream to live creatively.
All of our pieces are designed, laser cut and handcrafted in our studio in Montrose, Colorado. We take pride in in creating unique, contemporary designs that are a reminder to live creatively and sustainably.
I'm Leanna. Designer, day-dreamer, maker
Throughout my life, creativity has been my driving force.
I started my career as a graphic designer out of college and have not looked back. I love the creative challenges it brings and helping other business succeed. However, I felt like something was missing. Making a physical product with my own two hands that I can wrap up and hand to someone and bring a smile to their face.
Jordan, who is also a creative soul and talented artist, was working as a mailman to pay the bills and longing for a way to make a living doing what he loves.
Our friend introduced us to the laser cutter at his maker space and we were hooked! It was like the missing piece to the puzzle. We could combine our love of art and design with our passion to make!
Being a lover of jewelry and fashion I wanted to make some lightweight statement earrings that I could wear on a daily basis. I knew I didn't want to use just standard birch plywood that was full of nasty chemicals and formaldehyde so I did some research and found bamboo plywood that was lightweight, free of formaldehyde and eco friendly!
After wearing my new earrings for a few weeks and getting lots of compliments a friend encouraged me to set up a booth a local holiday market. With only a couple months to get ready, I scrambled to put everything together and Lucky Tree Studio was born.
I was so nervous, but the market turned out to be way better than I had expected and that gave me the confidence to keep moving forward with the business.
However, I soon found myself overwhelmed running two businesses and being a new mom so I turned to my husband for help. It was a big decision, and a bit scary, but Jordan decided to quit his job with the Postal Service and jump on board full time.
Ever since, we have been working as a team, designing pieces to inspire a creative and sustainable lifestyle.
